Money Saving Advice and Cashback Cashback Free money for shopping Do you shop online? Do you do any research about what to buy online? Ever compared prices online? Ever requested information on a product online? Ever been given cashback for doing any of this? NO! WHY NOT?Ok what is cashback and how do you get your mitts on it? Cashback is a fee paid by introduction sites to you for doing business through their sites, simply go through to partner sites from the link on the introduction site and they give you a cut of the fee they receive for the introduction. This cut can be anything from a few pence a few percent to 100% of the fee received by the site. It can also vary between a few pence for say using a price comparison site like say Kelkoo to over £100 for some insurence products from major names. So how much does this cost me do I have to pay higher prices? Shopping online does not cost you any more through a cashback site than it does if you go direct to the store itself. There are a variety of cashback sites all running on slightly different methods. There are those who work on a points system like Mutual Points and Rpoints, there are sites that charge you a fee but pay higher cashback like Quidco, topcashback and cashbackkings. Then there are cashback sites that do not charge you anything and pay, according to them, 100% of the cashback they receive making their money out of advertising on site and some cashback links where no cashback is received. Then there are cashback sites like Greasy Palm and ?? who do not charge a fee but pay lower cashback rates. So how to choose? My question would be why choose when they are all free to use and do not cost you anything upfront. Simply choosing to use the one that provides the best deal for the online company you plan to buy from, there is a useful tool the Cashback Checkerprovided by Martin Lewis, no not the news reader but the money saving advisor on daytime tv like good morning etc. Hang on you said free but you also said charge a fee how does this work? Cashback sites like Quidco and topcashback charge £5.00 per year which they take out of the cashback you earn if you don't earn any it costs you nothing. It is fairly easy to rack up enough cashback for free, yes free by buying nothing paying out no money, to cover this charge each year making the service free. |
